3 Notes: A Dance and Community Building Project, is a collaborative healing and dance project bringing together students and lecturers from the Universities of Peradeniya, Jaffna, and Eastern University. This project consists of a series of online workshops, performances, and symposiums.&#38;nbsp; Its goal is to facilitate dialogue and creative expression among students and faculty of diverse Sri Lankan backgrounds.

This program is a grant awarded by the U.S. Embassy to Sri Lanka and Maldives

	University of Jaffna hosts Eastern University and University of Peradeniya&#38;nbsp;
	Students and staff members of the University of Jaffna introduced performances including traditional folk arts such as “Kaaththavarayan Kooththu”, “Vasanthan Kooththu,” Thenmodi &#38;amp; Vada Modi Kooththu” as well as contemporary dance movements. The participants from both Eastern University and the University of Peradeniya joined in the above mentioned performances. The distinctiveness of these traditional forms of performing arts was explained and highlighted.

	Eastern University lecturers and students led participants in various Koothu traditions and discussed the evolution of traditional rituals as they move from community settings to the stage.&#38;nbsp;

University of Peradeniya Workshop 3November&#38;nbsp; 17


	Univesity of Peradeniya hosts Eastern University and University of Jaffna
	Students and lecturers of the University of Peradeniya welcomed the participants from Jaffna and Batticaloa through a dance video reflecting the current times of creating dance on digital platforms. Students and staff shared elements of the 3 main Sinhala dance traditions, including Kandyan, Low Country and Sabaragumuva dance, as well as ritual theater traditions of Kolam. Participants were led in an improvisational dance experience and reflected through movement on their connection to nature and to the other participants.

டிஜிட்டல் தளங்களில் நடனத்தை உருவாக்கும் தற்போதைய காலக்கட்டத்தை பிரதிபலிக்கும் ஒரு நடன வீடியோ மூலம் யாழ்ப்பாணம் மற்றும் மட்டக்களப்பை சேர்ந்த பங்கேற்பாளர்களை பேராதெனிய பல்கலைக்கழக மாணவர்கள் மற்றும் விரிவுரையாளர்கள் வரவேற்றனர்.
மலையக, கீழைத்தேய மற்றும் சபரகமுவ நடனம் உள்ளிட்ட 3 முக்கிய சிங்கள நடன மரபுகளின் கூறுகளையும், கோலம் எனும் நாடகத்தின் சடங்குகள் மற்றும் அரங்கேற்ற மரபுகளை மாணவர்கள் மற்றும் ஊழியர்கள் பகிர்ந்து கொண்டனர்.

ශිෂ්‍යයන් සහ කථිකාචාර්යවරුන්, යාපනයේ සහ මඩකලපුවේ සිට පැමිණි සහභාගිකරුවන්ව, ඩිජිටල්
වේදිකා මත නර්ථන නිර්මාණය කිරීමේ වත්මන් නැඹුරුව පිළිඹිබු කරන නර්ථන විඩියෝවකින් පිළිගත්හ. උඩරට, පහත රට, සහ සබරගමු නැටුම් ඇතුලත් වූ ප්‍රධාන
සිංහල නැටුම් සාම්බ්‍රදායන් තුන මෙන්ම කෝලම් නාට්‍ය සාම්බ්‍රදාය පිළිබඳවද, ශිෂ්‍යයන්
සහ කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය කරුණු බෙදාගත්හ.
චලනය තුලින්, සොබාදගම සහ අනෙක් සහභාගී වන්නන් සමග එකිනෙකාගේ
සබැඳියාව පිළිඹිබු කරන, එසැනින් සකසන ලද නැටුම් අත්දැකීමකට සහභාගිවන්නන්ව ගැන යන ලදි.

	Reflections&#38;nbsp;
“Sometimes I worried about myself because for 22 years I live in this country, but still I can't communicate with Tamil friends. I worry about that. But through this project, I saw one of the golden points. We communicate with our body language and performance. On the final day, there was a session only for the students. At that time I could understand art performance as a language. A lot can use it for their communication. There are no limits in the arts.”
